Country music singer Mel Tillis returns to Branson this year! See his show at the Clay Cooper Theatre from September 6 through December 6, 2012.
A little Mel in Branson timeline:
- Mel first arrived in Branson on a permanent basis in 1990
- He leased what is now the Yakov Theater for two years
- He built the Will Rogers Theater in 1992 with partner Melvin Hall
- Mel eventually built the Mel Tillis Theater in 1994
- He sold his theater to Hobby Lobby, Inc. in 2002, who transformed it into what is now the Tri-Lakes Center
- Mel continued to perform at the Tri Lakes Center until December 2010
- And now, 2012, he is performing a 4-month run at the Clay Cooper Theatre
